From what I was able to find out, this version of the album was only released in the US and nowhere else. Also there is edited version of "Airwaves" appears on that LP. That song that removed from the first US LP pressing(Harvest/Venice In Peril ST-12203) and replaced with "Leipzig" and "Urges" which had only been released as singles in Europe only. There is another song on the first pressing called "The Wreck Of The Fairchild" that is only on that version. It was only released in the UK, Australia, The Netherlands, and Japan. When the first version(Venice In Peril/EMI TC-VIP 1001) of the album was released it only had nine songs on it rather than ten on all versions from the second one on. "Europa And The Pirate Twins" is on all releases of "Golden Age Of Wireless". Much of this info comes from Ĭlick to expand. It is very difficult to keep all the variations straight in your head, since there are at least five different versions of this album that were released on vinyl. The first issue has 2-1-2 CAPITOL JAX 7C printed and the second issue has 1-1-4 CAPITOL JAX 17C vinyl issue, except it has the original version of "Radio Silence." The only way to tell the two versions apart is to look at the center ring of the disc. The second CD issue - which looks identical to the first interms of packaging and CD label - matches the original U.S. vinyl issue as far as song order, but it had the 7" version of "Science", the long versions of "Airwaves" and "Windpower" and the original version of "Radio Silence (the "rock" version has never come out on CD). The first CD issue was the same the first U.S.

issue had the 12" mix of "Science," "One of our Submarines, " and the 7" versions of "Windpower" and "Airwaves," plus a new version of "Radio Silence." The album you have has "Urges," "Leipzig" and the long version of "Windpower, but the 7" version of "Airwaves" The earliest European pressings had an instrumental called 'The Wreck of the Fairchild," and did not have "Urges" or "Leipzig." It also had a longer versions of "Airwaves" and "Windpower." However, Capitol used the 12" version of "Science" that was being played on the radio, rather than the single version that appears in the video. "Urges" and "Leipzig" were removed and "Science" and "One of Our Submarines" were added. When "Science" became a hit single, it was decided to reissue the album. It was originally recorded before "She Blinded Me With Science" was recorded. This is a tricky album to collect because there are so many variations.
